🔼 Amihere In Atlanta. Laeticia Amihere is off to Atlanta to start her pro career with the Dream. The Canadian native is excited about many different aspects of playing in the WNBA, from using her versatility to play where her coaches need her most to demonstrating the mental toughness she’s developed over the years in Columbia to playing against former Gamecocks in the pros.

“It’s going to be fun going up against everybody who’s a Gamecock,” Amihere said of seeing her old teammates in the WNBA. “It’s going to be so much fun to play against A’ja and to play against the ‘freshies.’ It’s going to be an amazing experience."

🔼 Retirement Party. As if you needed another reason to come out to Founders Park this weekend, South Carolina announced that Kip Bouknight will have his jersey retired before Friday's 7 p.m. ET first pitch against the Tigers. Bouknight is the winningest pitcher in Gamecock history with 45 career Ws. More details here.

🔼 Who To Watch. As spring football wraps around the nation, some players set themselves apart as ones to watch as we inch closer to fall. On3 previews the top 10 national offensive spring practice standouts and Gamecock fans, you’re going to like who is on this list!

🔼 An Astute Addition. South Carolina added Vanderbilt transfer forward Myles Stute this week! Stute played in 91 games with Vandy, averaging 7.4 points and 3.7 rebounds per game during the course of his career. Last season, Stute posted his best numbers yet with 8.4 points and 4.6 boards per game while shooting 36.1 percent from deep.

🔼 From London To Connecticut. After a pregnancy kept Mikiah Herbert Harrigan off the court, the former Gamecock superstar headed overseas to get back into the game. Herbert Harrigan suited up for the London Lions where she won two domestic trophies, led the Lions to the WBBL title, and shot 50% from beyond the arc.

Now she says her body feels all the way back and she’s pumped for the opportunity to return to the WNBA after inking a training camp contract with the Connecticut Sun.

"Overall I'm just very excited to return to the WNBA and I feel like having a good season in London helped me as well, so I'm pretty excited about it," Herbert Harrigan said. "I'm just going to go in and do what I do and hopefully it turns out for the best."

🔼 Becker And Call. After Noah Hall’s injury shook up the Gamecocks’ weekend rotation, the squad headed into the Vanderbilt and Florida series without naming a starting pitcher for the final game. Matthew Becker has gotten the call in both games, and both times, he’s impressed his head coach.

“He stepped up big time for us,” Mark Kingston said. “He looked like a guy that should be pitching on an SEC weekend. He had poise. I told Matthew after he came out of the game as impressed as I was with his stuff and his performance, the fact he was that poised throughout the outing was really big progress for him.”

Over his last 17 innings, Becker posted a 2.12 ERA with 25 strikeouts and six walks.
