🎥 COCKTALE HOUR

The CockTale Hour. It's back to the court for Tom Mendoza and his Gamecock squad as volleyball gets back in the swing of things. There's no easing into it this year with a challenging non-conference schedule starting up next week, but Coach Mendoza has a veteran team and looks forward to taking the next step and heading back to the NCAA Tournament. We're also gearing up for kickoff in Williams-Brice with just 5 days til gameday!

🔺 Carolina’s Best. The women’s soccer team improved to 2-0 after defeating College of Charleston, 4-1! Corinna Zullo and Catherine Barry scored two goals each. Barry tied the record for career game-winners with 17. Goalkeeper Tina Tsaousis tallied a career-high two saves. Gamecock fans showed up on a Sunday night, 5,600 of them, recording the fifth-largest crowd in program history.

🔺 It’s A Draw. The men’s soccer team earned a 2-2 draw with North Florida yesterday. Harrison Myring scored his second goal of the year to give the Gamecocks the early lead. Sebastian Reventlow-Mourier scored the second Carolina goal in the second half. Gamecock goalkeeper Filip Versterre made the only save of the game. They’ll host Clemson on Friday night at 7 p.m.

🔺 Battle Of The Gamecocks. Former women’s basketball Gamecocks A’ja Wilson and Kamilla Cardoso played each other yesterday with their respective WNBA teams! It was an intense matchup, but A’ja came out on top by scoring the game-winner. She dominated the game with 20 points and 18 rebounds. Kamilla grabbed 12 boards and added eight points and five blocks to her stat sheet.
