🎥 TAILGATE TALKS

Tailgate Talks: We Bowlin’. Pat and Stephen went bowling with Gamecock football to kick off 2025 with an epic tailgate in Orlando. They caught up with former teammates, took fan questions, and shared stories of their less-than-perfect bowl experiences. They may not have brought the team much luck, but hey, bowl games have never really been their thing.

📈 STOCK UP

🔺 Smart Cookies. Gamecock student-athletes put an emphasis on the '“student” this fall! They finished the semester with a departmental GPA of 3.47, the second-highest in program history. This marks the department’s 36th consecutive semester with a GPA above 3.0. There were 108 Gamecocks named to the President’s List and 207 to the Dean’s List. The softball team earned the highest team GPA at 3.78.

🔺 This Is How We Do It. The second-ranked women’s basketball team got a dominant 90-49 win over Texas A&M last night! The Gamecock defense shut down the Aggies early, holding them to 20% shooting in the first half and 29% through the game. Joyce Edwards led South Carolina with 19 points and 10 rebounds. The Gamecocks took a 30-point lead midway through the third. This was a good final tune-up before they go on a 5-game stretch of ranked opponents! They’ll host No. 5 Texas on Sunday at 1 p.m. on ESPN

🔺 Fast Ford. Gamecock track & field’s JaMeesia Ford was named to the Bowerman Preseason Watch List this week! She was named to each of the seven Bowerman Watch Lists last season. She sits in the South Carolina record books, winning two NCAA Indoor titles in the women’s 200m and the 4×400m relay. Ford was named SEC Freshman Runner of the Year and USTFCCCA Southeast Region Track Athlete of the Year for the indoor and outdoor seasons.

🔜 The track & field team will host the Gamecock Opener tomorrow at 11 a.m.

🔺 Staying Home. The men’s basketball team remains at home this weekend! They’ll host No. 2 Auburn tomorrow at 1 p.m. Fans at home can tune in on the SEC Network. The first 1,000 students in attendance will receive a free t-shirt!
