Tailgate Talks: We Bowlin’. Pat and Stephen went bowling with Gamecock football to kick off 2025 with an epic tailgate in Orlando. They caught up with former teammates, took fan questions, and shared stories of their less-than-perfect bowl experiences. They may not have brought the team much luck, but hey, bowl games have never really been their thing.
📈 STOCK UP
🔺 Handled The Horns. No. 2 South Carolina dominated No. 5 Texas from the jump on Sunday! Gamecock women’s basketball got the 67-50 win in front of a sold-out crowd of 18,000. Te-Hina Paopao and Chloe Kitts scored 11 points each. The Gamecocks became the only team in the nation with 13 wins against DI teams with winning records.
🔺 Historic Saturday. The 22nd-ranked women’s swim & dive team made history on Saturday! They upset No. 19 Auburn 152.5-147.5 for the first time in program history, ending a 0-9 streak against the Tigers. The Gamecocks won nine individual events plus swept the 1000 freestyle. They won the final six individual events and placed second in the 400 free relay to ultimately win the dual meet.
🔺 Home Track & Field Advantage. The Gamecock track & field program won a combined 12 events with eight combined NCAA Top 25 marks and five new program Top 10 marks in the Gamecock Opener. The women’s team recorded eight wins with four individual titles on the track, three in the field, and the 4×400m relay. The men recorded four wins with three individual titles and the 4×400m relay.
🔺 Double The Wins. The 15th-ranked men’s tennis team secured two wins on Sunday to begin the spring portion of the season. They shut out both Furman and The Citadel. They’ll return to the courts on Thursday when they host No. 5 Virginia at 5 p.m.
🔺 Came Close. The men’s basketball team had No. 2 Auburn in their grasp, but ultimately fell 66-63 after an Auburn go-ahead dunk and two free throws. The Tigers held the Gamecocks scoreless in the final 5:18 of the game. Collin Murray-Boyles led the game with 25 points. Arden Conyers came off the bench to score 13 points in a career-high 31 minutes. Up next, they’ll play at Vanderbilt on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
