Tailgate Talks: Ryan Succop - Don't tell him kickers aren't real football players! Perhaps one of the most versatile special teamers to ever come through Columbia, Ryan Succop did it all during his time as a Gamecock. The 14-year NFL veteran joins his old teammates with some wild NFL stories you'll have to hear to believe.

📈 STOCK UP

🔺 Close Call. The men’s basketball team fell to Vanderbilt on the road in a close 66-63 game. Vanderbilt’s Devin McGlockton scored three with 0.6 seconds remaining to seal the game. Morris Ugusuk stepped up for the Gamecocks, scoring a career-high 20 points. Collin Murray-Boyles scored 14 with nine rebounds. The Gamecocks will play at Oklahoma on Saturday at 4 p.m. on ESPNU.

🔺 T-Town Bound. The second-ranked women’s basketball team is on the road again! They’re taking a trip to Tuscaloosa to play at No. 19 Alabama tonight at 7 p.m. Fans can tune in on SEC Network+. The Gamecocks lead the nation with five wins over ranked opponents. They have allowed the six ranked opponents they’ve played to score just 57.0 points per game.

🔺 Smashing Records. Gamecock diver Sophie Verzyl has been named SEC Diver of the Week again! This is her sixth honor of the 2024-25 season and ninth in her career so far, more than any other Gamecock diver in program history. She helped South Carolina make history on Saturday, bringing in 18 points to help the Gamecocks upset No. 19 Auburn for the first time in program history.

🔺 Rockin’ Rookie. Quarterback LaNorris Sellers has been named the 2024 National Freshman Offensive Player of the Year by the Football Writers Association of America! He will be honored during a ceremony on February 24 at Spurrier’s Gridiron Grille in Gainesville, Florida.
