Tailgate Talks: Trick Williams - From the field to the ring! Matrick Belton, known to many as “Trick Williams,” is a rising star in the world of professional wrestling, but before he was a WWE champion, he was playing under the lights at Willy-B. The former Gamecock receiver talks about his time in Columbia and his rise up the wrestling ranks.

🔺 What A Joy. This week’s SEC Freshman of the Week is Gamecock Joyce Edwards! She was the team’s top scorer, averaging 19.0 points and 75% shooting in last week’s wins over No. 19 Alabama and No. 13 Oklahoma.

🏆 The Gamecocks were also named the USBWA Team of the Week for the third time this season. They earn the honor in back-to-back weeks for the first time in the awards’ history.

🔺 Dark Mode. The Gamecock men’s basketball team needs your support in tonight’s Black Out at Colonial Life Arena! They’ll host No. 5 Florida at 7 p.m. to kick off a week of hosting two top-15 teams. Tonight’s dress code is all black to match the team’s black uniforms! The first 1,200 students will receive a special edition black Cockpit jersey. Fans at home can watch the game on the SEC Network.

🔺 Wrice Stuff. For the second-straight week, a Gamecock is bringing home some hardware! Josiah Wrice was named SEC Men’s Freshman of the Week. He finished fourth overall in his first collegiate 400m at last weekend’s Corky Classic. His 46.38 time ranks sixth in the NCAA and sixth all-time in Gamecock Indoor history. He also opened the 4×400m relay in which the Gamecocks finished fourth.

🔺 Another One. South Carolina baseball’s Ethan Petry continues to earn preseason praise as the season nears! He was named a Preseason All-American by D1 Baseball, earning second-team honors. Earlier this month, he was named Preseason All-American by Perfect Game.

⚾️ The Gamecocks will host three six-inning scrimmages at Founders Park this weekend! Check out the schedule:
