Tailgate Talks: Trick Williams - From the field to the ring! Matrick Belton, known to many as “Trick Williams,” is a rising star in the world of professional wrestling, but before he was a WWE champion, he was playing under the lights at Willy-B. The former Gamecock receiver talks about his time in Columbia and his rise up the wrestling ranks.

📈 STOCK UP

🔺 Block Party. The women’s basketball team came out on top in Friday’s highly anticipated matchup with No. 5 LSU! They defeated the Tigers 66-56 behind a season-high 11 blocks. The Gamecocks opened the second half with a 10-point lead and the Tigers could never recover. Joyce Edwards led the Gamecocks with 14 points, while Sania Feagin scored 12 with seven rebounds.

The Gamecocks have a quick turnaround as they hit the road to play another top-20 matchup tonight at No. 17 Tennessee. This will be their fifth-straight game against a ranked opponent. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. on ESPN2.

🔺 Took ‘Em To OT. The men’s basketball team took No. 14 Mississippi State into overtime after the Bulldogs blew a 14-point lead. The Gamecocks eventually fell 65-60. Jamarii Thomas led South Carolina with 19 points after missing the last four games. Collin Murray-Boyles recorded his sixth double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds. They’ll play at Georgia tomorrow at 7 p.m.

🔺 Successful Senior Day. The No. 18 women’s swimming & diving team closed the regular season and Senior Day with a win! They defeated Georgia Tech 211.5-86.5. The men’s team fell to the No. 20 Yellow Jackets 131-169. The women’s team took first and third in the 200 medley relay. They also swept the opening individual event of the 1000 freestyle with Emma Reiser, Megan Willar, and Sterling Burd finishing 1-2-3. Ellery Ottem won the 200 freestyle, Anna Riordan won the 100 backstroke, and Elizabeth Goodwin-Birnie won the 100 breaststroke. Delaney Franklin won her third-straight 200 breaststroke and the Gamecocks swept the 200 backstroke.

🔺 Finished Strong. Both tennis teams moved to consolation matches after losing their first matches at their respective ITA Kickoff Weekend events. Their luck turned around as they both won in sweeping fashion on Saturday. The men’s team swept North Florida 4-0, taking control from the start. The women’s team swept New Mexico 4-0 for their third win of the season.
