🔺 2’2 Coming Soon. The second-ranked women’s basketball team will host Auburn on Sunday at noon. Before tip-off, A’ja Wilson’s No. 22 jersey will be retired in a pregame ceremony. Wilson led the Gamecocks to their first national championship in school history. She left South Carolina with three SEC regular-season championships, four SEC Tournament titles, a 2015 Final Four appearance, and the 2017 national championship. She was also the program’s first National Player of the Year, three-time SEC Player of the Year, Lisa Leslie Award-winner, and a four-time All-American. Now, Wilson has established herself as one of the best players in the WNBA, winning two championships, three MVPs, and two Olympic gold medals.

🔺 Challengers. The track & field teams will host two meets this weekend! They’ll host the Carolina Challenge today and the Gamecock Challenge tomorrow. Today’s event will feature 17 teams with Mercer and USC Upstate being the only other NCAA DI schools competing. The Gamecocks will compete in 10 events. Tomorrow’s meet features 18 teams including Auburn, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest, East Carolina, and others. The women’s team came in at No. 13 in the first USTFCCCA Top 25 of the indoor season.

🔺 Home, Sweet Home. The men’s basketball team returns home this weekend! They’ll host No. 13 Texas A&M tomorrow night at 8:30 p.m. on the SEC Network. The first 1,000 students in attendance will receive a free t-shirt!

🔺 Going Pro. Gamecock softball alumna Alana Vawter was drafted in the ninth round of the Athletes Unlimited Softball League (AUSL) Draft! She was picked by the Blaze at 34th overall. The league will feature four teams this summer playing in a traditional format. Vawter is currently a graduate assistant for the Gamecocks.

🔺 On The Farm. The eighth-ranked equestrian team will open 2025 at One Wood Farm! They’ll host No. 2 Lynchburg at 11 a.m. today. The overall outcome of the meet will not count towards the team record, but will count towards individual records. These two teams last met in 2023 when the Gamecocks won 7-0.
