Tailgate Talks: We Bowlin’. Pat and Stephen went bowling with Gamecock football to kick off 2025 with an epic tailgate in Orlando. They caught up with former teammates, took fan questions, and shared stories of their less-than-perfect bowl experiences. They may not have brought the team much luck, but hey, bowl games have never really been their thing.

🔺 SEC Play At CLA. The men’s basketball team is back at home! They’ll play their SEC home opener tonight at 7 p.m. against No. 5 Alabama. The Crimson Tide won their SEC opener against No. 12 Oklahoma, while the Gamecocks fell to No. 17 Mississippi State. The first 3,000 fans in attendance will receive a free rally towel! Fans will also have a chance to win $25,000 in the Blanchard Machinery Big Money Challenge by filling out this form.

🔺 Perfection. Gamecock baseball’s Ethan Petry has been named a Preseason All-American by Perfect Game! He earned second team honors and his second nod from the Perfect Game staff. He was the 2023 Perfect Game National Freshman of the Year and enters his junior season with a .341 career average.

🔺 Another One. Gamecock diver Sophie Verzyl has been named SEC Diver of the Week for the fifth time this season! She’s now tied with Brooke Schultz for most SEC Diver of the Week honors in a season in program history. She swept both of her events by over 20 points against Virginia Tech last Saturday.

🔺 Cheers To 50 Years. South Carolina will be hosting a reunion to celebrate 50 Years of Women’s Sports at South Carolina this Sunday during the South Carolina women’s basketball game against No. 5 Texas. This event will bring former female student-athletes across the decades back to campus for a celebration.
