🔺 Iconic Voice. From quarterbacking the Gamecocks to becoming the voice generations of South Carolina fans associate with Saturdays, Todd Ellis has spent more than four decades connected to the program. Now in his 35th season with the Gamecock Sports Radio Network, Ellis has been named the 2026 recipient of the NFF’s Chris Schenkel Award, honoring his distinguished broadcasting career and longstanding connection to South Carolina.
🔺 Leading The Way. South Carolina’s College of Hospitality, Retail and Sport Management and head women’s basketball coach Dawn Staley have launched the Dawn Staley Leadership Academy. The six-credit academic program began this fall with 100 students and focuses on discipline, service, authenticity and leadership beyond the classroom. Participants will receive leadership coaching and professional-development opportunities before completing a community-focused capstone project. Students who complete the program will also receive donor-funded scholarships at different milestones.
🔺 Triple Threat. Three Gamecocks earned SEC swimming and diving weekly honors after South Carolina’s season-opening trip to UNCW. Delaney Franklin was named Co-Women’s Swimmer of the Week, while Max Spencer and Kyleigh Kidd swept the conference’s diving honors. Franklin won three events and broke two pool records during the meet. Spencer claimed the men’s 1-meter title, and Kidd won the women’s 3-meter competition in her Gamecock debut.
🔺 Sunday Standouts. Take a look at how Gamecocks in the NFL performed last week!
