🎥 GAMECOCK TALK
Gamecock Talk. Legendary coach, Paul Mainieri, joins the Garnet & Black looking to add to his already decorated career in the SEC. Mainieri sits down with Gamecocks+ to describe his unexpected path to Columbia, why he believes this is a perfect fit, and his expectations for Carolina baseball.
📈 STOCK UP
🔺 Very Few Pharohs. Former Gamecock wide receiver Pharoh Cooper is part of the South Carolina Association of Lettermen’s Athletics Hall of Fame 2024 class. The North Carolina native came to play defensive back in 2013, but made the transition to receiver, which would pay off in the long run. He left as a two-time First Team All-SEC receiver and was honored twice as an all-purpose back. He caught 18 touchdown passes, scored four rushing touchdowns, and threw for four touchdowns.
After his collegiate career, he was drafted in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL Draft by the Los Angeles Rams. He was named a First Team All-Pro return man in just his second NFL season. Cooper retired from the NFL earlier this year.
🔺 He’s The Man. Gamecock football’s Alex Huntley was named to the Jason Witten Collegiate Man of the Year Watch List! Nominees demonstrate a record of leadership and sportsmanship on and off the field. Huntley is a Rex Enright permanent team captain, a regular member of the SEC Academic Honor Roll, and was a freshman All-SEC selection. He has also won the South Carolina Spirit Award twice.
🔺 Game Time. We have a game time for South Carolina vs. No. 1 Alabama! Kick off is set for noon at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa, Alabama on October 12. The game will be nationally televised on ABC.
