🏈 GAMECOCK FOOTBALL WITH COACH BEAMER

A win headed into the bye week! South Carolina takes the fourth straight win in the series against Big Blue, and sits at 3-2 on the first off week of the season. Coach Beamer and Todd Ellis recap the win and talk about the improvements they saw from the all three phases of the game.

📈 STOCK UP

🔺 White Out. Gamecock volleyball will host Texas A&M in their SEC home opener tonight! It’s a White Out, so wear white! First serve is set for 7 p.m. and the first 400 fans in attendance will receive a rally towel.

🔺 Lockdown Defense. Men’s soccer midfielder Mika Habel has been named the Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Week! He led the Gamecocks to a pair of shutout win and scored his first career game-winning goal. He becomes the fifth Gamecock to earn SBC Player of the Week honors this season.

🔺 That’s A Wrap. The 2025 MLB regular season has come to an end! Here’s a recap of how former Gamecocks performed in The Show.

  • Carlos Cortes (Athletics) - He was called up by the A’s on Jul. 15. He hit .309 with eight doubles, a triple, four home runs, and 14 RBI. His best day at the plate was on Sept. 12 against Cincinnati when he hit two home runs.

  • Carmen Mlodzinski (Pirates) - He made 34 appearances with 12 starts this season. He produced a 3.55 ERA, striking out 89 batters in 99 innings pitched.

  • Christian Walker (Astros) - He played in 154 games for the Astros this season. He hit 24 doubles, 27 home runs, 88 RBI, and 72 runs scored. Walker hit two homers against the Los Angeles Angels in his final game of the season.

  • Clarke Schmidt (Yankees) and Jordan Montgomery (Brewers) are on the injured list, but could earn a ring as their teams start postseason play this week.

🔺 Representing Well. Former South Carolina women’s golfer Erica Pressley, now legally deaf, is representing the USA at the Deaflympics in Tokyo. Despite her hearing loss, Pressley remains a competitive golfer and hopes to inspire others with her story. She encourages perseverance and hard work, emphasizing that age and obstacles should not keep one from achieving their dreams. Read more about her journey to the Deaflympics!
