The Story (S.2 Ep.8) - It typically takes a couple of years for young athletes to get their feet wet and step into key roles on their college team. When a freshman makes plays, it's great, but when a group of them can be counted on to help you win games, you might have something special. 🔺 Practice Makes Perfect. Fans saw the women’s basketball team for the first time in an exhibition match on Tuesday night, and they looked as dominant as ever. South Carolina defeated Memphis 106-63 in the inaugural Hoops for St. Jude Tip Off Classic. Newcomer Joyce Edwards made her Gamecock debut known with a double-double in the first half. She led the team with 19 points and added 12 rebounds. Chloe Kitts also recorded a double-double with 15 points and 13 rebounds. They’ll return to the court on October 28 with an exhibition against Clayton State.

🔺 High Five For Dives. Gamecock diver Sophie Verzyl was named the SEC Female Diver of the Week! Last weekend, she swept the diving events at the tri-meet against No. 13 Georgia and Vanderbilt. This is the fourth time she has earned the award in her career. The Gamecocks return to the pool next Friday at Duke.
