🔺 From The Desk. South Carolina Athletics is halfway through the fall semester and highlights include leading the nation in men’s and women’s soccer attendance, a record streak of sellouts at Williams-Brice Stadium, and upcoming basketball season events. The university is also pursuing a third non-conference football opponent for the 2026 season and is actively working on plans to reimagine Williams-Brice Stadium. 🔺 Partying Gamecock Style. GarNET & Black Madness is tonight at 7 p.m. inside Colonial Life Arena! The free fan event will include a 3-point contest, skill and dunk challenges, and a live performance by Waka Flocka Flame! Both the men’s and women’s basketball teams will be participating.

🔺 Jet On. Gamecock punt returner Vicari Swain has been named to the Jet Award midseason watch list! The award honors the electrifying talents of players who excel on punt and kickoff returns. Swain leads the nation with three punt returns for touchdowns, tying the South Carolina record.

🔺 On Schedule. The South Carolina track & field team will compete in 23 meets over 18 weekends during the 2026 season. The schedule includes 11 indoor meets, with four home meets, and 12 outdoor meets, with one home meet. The indoor season will begin at the Clemson Opener on December 5.
🏆 HALL OF FAME HIGHLIGHT

Former Gamecock swimmer Akram Mahmoud will be inducted into the Association of Lettermen’s Athletics Hall of Fame! He was a 10-time All-American at South Carolina, taking honors in multiple freestyle events. He is also the school record holder in the 1000 and 1650 freestyle. Mahmoud, who represented Egypt in the 2016 Olympics, credits his success to the support of his coaches and teammates. He currently works as the Operations Manager for ONEFlow Sports in Egypt.
