🔺 Wrecking Crew. There was no doubt the Carolina defense came to play on Saturday. Two Gamecocks earned recognition from the SEC after their performances!

Safety Nick Emmanwori was named the SEC Co-Defensive Player of the Week. He recorded a season-high 11 tackles and a career-high two interceptions. His second pick of the day turned into a 65-yard touchdown.

Defensive tackle Tonka Hemingway was named the SEC Co-Defensive Lineman of the Week. He picked up a fumble and hustled 36 yards for a touchdown on Saturday. He recorded two tackles, including an 8-yard sack. The defensive line held Oklahoma to just 53 rushing yards on 41 attempts and an average of 1.3 yards per carry.

🔺 Freshman Sensation. Women’s soccer’s Katie Shea Collins has been named the SEC Freshman of the Week! This is the fourth SEC honor of her young career. She recorded a brace against Alabama with a season-high five shots. She has scored the game’s first goal in four of the last five matches.

🔺 Fifth-Place Finish. The 23rd-ranked men’s golf team finished fifth overall at the Fallen Oak Collegiate Invitational. Frankie Harris led the team as he tied for fourth at 4-under The Gamecocks finished in the top-five in each of their fall tournaments.

🔺 Highest Honor. South Carolina is set to honor the late Tommy Moody in the 2024 USC Association of Lettermen’s Athletics Hall of Fame class. Moody was a baseball player for the Gamecocks, playing middle infield from 1970-72. In 2000, he became part of the South Carolina baseball radio broadcasts. He served as President of the Lettermen’s Association and was a Historian on its Board of Directors as well as a chairman on the Hall of Fame Selection Committee since 1998. He passed away last October at the age of 72.

The Hall of Fame induction ceremony will be November 1 at the Cockaboose Club inside Williams-Brice Stadium.
