Gamecock Football with Coach Beamer. The second half of the season starts with a happy flight home after South Carolina left Norman, Oklahoma with a huge SEC road win. The first-ever meeting between the Gamecocks and Sooners on the gridiron featured coaches who were very familiar with their opponent. Coach Beamer and Todd Ellis break down the 35-9 blowout win as South Carolina heads into their second bye week of the year.

🔺 Nobody Compares. South Carolina is giving A’ja Wilson her flowers. The No. 22 jersey of the four-time All-American, three-time SEC Player of the Year, and three-time WNBA MVP will be retired pregame on February 2 before the Gamecocks play Auburn. She was the program’s first No. 1 recruit and became the first No. 1 WNBA Draft pick. She’s South Carolina’s all-time leading scorer with 2,389 points and holds 22 program records.

🔺 We’re Home. The men’s soccer team finally returns home after back-to-back road matches. They’ll host James Madison tonight at 7 p.m. It’s Western Wednesday, so there will be country-themed music and contests throughout the game. The first 250 students in attendance will receive free pizza!

🔺 Kai’s The Guy. Gamecock punter Kai Kroeger was named to the “Ray’s 8” list this week! He averaged 51.6 yards per punt on eight punts at Oklahoma. Half of his punts pinned the Sooners inside the 20-yard line. He leads the SEC and is second in the country with a 48.8 punt average.

🔺 Miller Time. The SEC announced the 2024 SEC Football Legends class yesterday and former Gamecock Corey Miller will represent South Carolina! Miller was a standout defensive end at South Carolina from 1987-90. He earned All-South Independent honors in ‘89 and ‘90. In the 1991 NFL Draft, he was selected in the sixth round by the New York Giants. Miller went on to spend eight seasons in the NFL.
