Gamecocks, Tar Heels Set To Square Off In Top-15 Exhibition Tonight

Good Morning, Gamecocks! Wins are great. Championships are memorable. But this, this is what really makes the difference.
Developing leaders on and off the field 🎙️
This week, we held media training for our student-athletes! Leadership isn’t just about how you play; it’s about how you speak.

📈 STOCK UP
🔺 Sneak Peek. One last rehearsal before the real thing.
The Gamecocks are facing another NCAA Div. I opponent in an exhibition game for the third straight season, but this is their first such meeting against another ranked opponent. South Carolina is 2-0 in its previous Div. I exhibition games (Rutgers, 10/22/23; Memphis, 10/15/24).
In the Dawn Staley era of playing colleges in exhibition games, South Carolina is 17-0, including last week’s 112-31 win over Anderson to open this season.
Tip time in ATL is set for 6 p.m.
🔺 Making The List. And another one joins the preseason lists category.
On Wednesday, South Carolina senior Maryam Dauda earned a spot on the Cheryl Miller Small Forward of the Year Preseason Top 20 Watchlist. It is the second times in as many seasons that she has been on the list.
Dauda is in her second season at South Carolina following two seasons at Arkansas, which included a standout sophomore campaign. The 6-foot-4 forward has versatility on both ends of the court and range on her shot. Dauda played in 34 games for the Gamecocks last season with her impact growing toward the end of the campaign.
🔺 Lock ‘Em In. Coming off one of the best seasons in program history, the South Carolina softball program is ready for more in 2026.
On Wednesday, second-year head coach Ashley Chastain Woodard unveiled its full non-conference slate for next spring.
The Gamecocks will open the season with nine home games. The 31-game non-conference schedule includes three home tournaments, a home-and-home matchup with Clemson, and 16 games against 2025 NCAA Tournament teams.
🤔 GAMECOCK TRIVIA

Today’s trivia question…
Tonight’s exhibition showdown is the first time that the Gamecocks and Tar Heels have squared off since the 2024 NCAA Tournament, in which South Carolina ended UNC’s season in the second round with an 88-41 victory.
How many Gamecocks scored in double-figures in that contest?
