🪄 BLACK MAGIC

In the early 1980s, South Carolina football was searching for an identity — a program adrift and hungry for respect. Part One of Black Magic: The Story of the 1984 Gamecocks sets the stage with the arrival of head coach Joe Morrison, whose quiet intensity would spark a cultural shift in Columbia. Through the eyes of players, journalists, and lifelong fans, we revisit a program standing at the edge of transformation. The ’84 season begins with a tense, hard-fought win over The Citadel — a shaky opening act that hinted at the unforgettable storm to come.

Black Magic: The Story of the 1984 Gamecocks Part One: A Rise to Relevancy premieres TOMORROW on Gamecocks+.

🎙️ TAILGATE TALKS

Tailgate Talks: Kai Kroeger — It's a bird, it's a plane! No, it's just an absolute rocket of a punt off the foot of Kai Kroeger. The former Gamecock standout is now a starter in the NFL for his favorite childhood team, and is next up on the tailgate. Stephen and Pat look back through his career at South Carolina, including the trickery that made him a fan favorite, and check in on the two most important things happening now: his rookie season and his golf game.
