Tailgate Talks: John Abraham — One of the best to ever do it! He’s a Hall of Famer, All-Pro, SEC Legend, and the list goes on. John Abraham will be remembered forever by the numbers he put up on the field, but that’s only half the story. Get to know the man opposing quarterbacks feared for two decades, right here on the tailgate.

📈 STOCK UP

🔺 20-Piece. Three Gamecocks scored 20 or more points in the second-ranked women’s basketball team’s 106-56 win over Winthrop! Ta’Niya Latson scored 24 points, Madina Okot scored 23, and Joyce Edwards scored 22. Okot added 11 rebounds for a double-double. They’ll host Queens on Sunday at 2 p.m.

🔺 Academic Success. The University of South Carolina’s athletic program ranked fourth in the Southeastern Conference in the latest NCAA Graduation Success Rate, with a score of 94%. Nine Gamecock teams achieved a perfect GSR score of 100%. The program also boasts a departmental GPA of 3.45, 128 graduates, and 477 members on the SEC Academic Honor Roll.

🔺 Five On It. South Carolina women’s basketball placed five on the Wooden Award Top 50 Preseason Watchlist. Joyce Edwards, Raven Johnson, Chloe Kitts, Ta’Niya Latson, and Agot Makeer make the Gamecocks one of two teams with five players on the list. Although Kitts is out for the season, the committee included her based on last season’s All-America effort.
