🔺 Vegas, Baby. The top-ranked women’s basketball team started the season with a win in Las Vegas! The Gamecocks defeated Michigan 68-62 in last night’s Hall of Fame Series. Chloe Kitts led the Gamecocks with 19 points and 14 rebounds for her first double-double of the season. The Gamecock bench outscored Michigan’s 29-6. South Carolina will play in Charlotte on Sunday against No. 9 NC State.

🔺 First Game Nerves. The men’s basketball team didn’t get the result they wanted in the season opener, falling to North Florida 74-71. Four Gamecocks scored in double-figures, led by Collin Murray-Boyles with 17 points. Nick Pringle led the team with nine rebounds and added three blocks. The Gamecocks will host SC State on Friday.

🔺 Hungry For More. The four-seeded women’s soccer team will play 12-seed Alabama in the quarterfinals of the SEC Tournament tonight at 8 p.m. The game will air on SEC Network from Pensacola, Florida. Alabama advanced to the quarterfinals by defeating Vanderbilt in the first round.

🔺 For The Seniors. It’s Senior Night at Stone Stadium! The men’s soccer team will close out the regular season when they host Georgia Southern tonight at 7 p.m. Seniors Gabriel Atienza, Jack Burgess, Wyatt Kistner, Harrison Myring, Sonny Quintanilla, Sebastian Reventlow-Mourier, and Martin Yahia will be honored before the match.

🔺 Triple Threat. Three South Carolina football players earned SEC weekly honors! LaNorris Sellers was named SEC Freshman of the Week after passing for a career-high 244 yards and two touchdowns, plus rushing a career-high 106 yards and a trip to the endzone. He was also named one of eight quarterbacks on the Manning Award’s Star of the Week list and to the Davey O’Brien Award’s Great 8. Torricelli Simpkins III was named Offensive Lineman of the Week. He had six pancake blocks and three knockouts, helping the Gamecocks get 530 yards of total offense. Alex Herrera was named Co-Special Teams Player of the Week. He made all three of his field goal attempts and all five of his extra points.
