Tailgate Talks: CFP and Ryan Brewer. The College Football Playoff bracket is set! What do Pat and Stephen think about the first-ever 12-team field? How about South Carolina's matchup with Illinois in the Cheez-it Citrus Bowl? 🔺 Special Specs. Gamecock quarterback LaNorris Sellers has been named the SEC Freshman of the Year by the league’s coaches! He has completed 64.9% of his passes and thrown for 2,274 yards and 17 touchdowns. He added 655 yards and seven touchdowns on the ground.

🔺 Recognized. The Associated Press announced its postseason award winners! Shane Beamer was named the SEC Coach of the Year and Kyle Kennard was named SEC Defensive Player of the Year! Kennard earned the same honor from the SEC coaches. Nick Emmanwori joined him on the AP All-SEC First Team. Raheim ‘Rocket’ Sanders and T.J. Sanders were named to the Second Team.

🔺 Schedule’s Set. The 2025 Gamecock football schedule is here! The season will kick off at the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta against Virginia Tech. South Carolina will open SEC play on September 13 when Vanderbilt visits Williams-Brice. They’ll also host Kentucky, Oklahoma, and Alabama in SEC play. They’ll take trips to Missouri, LSU, Ole Miss, and Texas A&M.

🔺 Arnie’s Army. South Carolina women’s golf coach Kalen Anderson has been named co-head coach for Team USA at the 2025 Arnold Palmer Cup! The tournament is coming to the Congaree Golf Club outside of Ridgeland, S.C. in June. Anderson will work alongside Auburn’s men’s golf head coach Nick Clinard.
