🤙 GAMECOCKS FOREVER

Gamecock Nation mourns the loss of former quarterback Steve Taneyhill, who has passed away at the age of 52. He was a record-setting Gamecock quarterback, a successful high school coach, and a local businessman. Taneyhill set school career records with 753 completions and 62 passing touchdowns. He also owns the record for single-game pass completions and attempts. He entered the South Carolina Athletics Hall of Fame in 2006 and was named Freshman of the Year by Sports Illustrated and Football News Freshman All-America in 1992.

Gamecock Nation also lost former head football coach and defensive coordinator Richard Bell, who passed away on Saturday at the age of 88. He spent seven seasons as Carolina’s defensive coordinator, making three bowl games with four winning seasons. He served as head coach in 1982.

📈 STOCK UP

🔺 Palmetto Hoops. Gamecock men’s basketball heads to The Upstate for its first and only true road game of the non-conference slate. They’ll play Clemson in the annual Palmetto Series tonight at 7 p.m. on ESPN2. Last season, South Carolina defeated the Tigers in overtime.

🔺 Got Gold. South Carolina senior diver Sophie Verzyl won gold in the 3-meter dive at the 2025 USA Diving Winter National Championship. This season, Verzyl has set a new program record in the 1-meter and stacked nine event wins.
