Jay and Bill preview the New Year's Eve matchup with Illinois and look back at a season where Shane Beamer shattered national expectations.

🔺 Win No. 10. The women’s basketball team picked up their 10th win on Sunday, beating South Florida 78-62. Joyce Edwards scored 15 points in the win. Ashlyn Watkins had 10 points, eight rebounds, and four blocks. The Gamecocks ended the day with five players scoring in double figures for the fourth time this season. They’ll host Charleston Southern on Thursday at noon.

🔺 Heating Up. It may be cold outside, but the Gamecocks are hot! The men’s basketball team earned their fourth-straight win on Saturday, defeating USC Upstate 73-53. The win was the fifth-straight at home for the Gamecocks. Nick Pringle tied his career-high with 19 points, throwing down three dunks. Collin Murray-Boyles recorded another double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds.

The Palmetto Series, presented by the South Carolina Education Lottery, lies ahead as South Carolina hosts No. 16 Clemson tomorrow at 7 p.m.

🔺 We Are The Champions. The men’s swim team became Men’s National Open Water Team Champions at the CSCAA College National Open Water Championships! Connor Fry led the three Gamecocks competing, finishing third overall. Ryan Turner finished ninth and Umut Yildirim finished 13th. The women’s team finished as National Runner-Ups out of 19 teams. Nora Fluck, Emma Reiser, and Sianna Savarda competed for the Gamecocks.
