Black Magic: The Story of the 1984 Gamecocks - Part 4: Everlasting Resolution 

In the final act of Black Magic, the Gamecocks rally from a crushing loss to Navy and a 21-3 hole against Clemson to end the regular season on a high note. Part four of Black Magic wraps up the series with a peek at the years that followed, the untimely passing of Coach Joe Morrison, and a look at how that '84 season changed everything.

🔺 Night To Remember. No. 3 Gamecock women’s basketball beat South Florida on the road, 103-44. Joyce Edwards had a career night with a career-high 34 points on 14-of-15 shooting. Tessa Johnson added 16 points. The Gamecocks will play at Florida Gulf Coast tomorrow at 2 p.m.

🔺 Fighting Against The Odds. Former South Carolina infielder Braylen Wimmer underwent brain surgery to remove a golf ball-sized mass. After experiencing complications, including a seizure and loss of speech, he is now recovering and working towards resuming his baseball career. Wimmer, who was diagnosed with a grade 2 astrocytoma, is determined to overcome this challenge and help others facing similar situations. Read more of his story here.

🔺 Sandy Schedule. South Carolina beach volleyball’s 2026 schedule includes two home tournaments, four road trips, and a Big 12 preview tournament. The season will wrap up at the Big 12 Conference Championship in Tucson, Arizona. This marks the first time the program will compete in the Big 12 Conference Championship.
