🪄 BLACK MAGIC

All four parts of Black Magic: The Story of the 1984 Gamecocks are now streaming on Gamecocks+!

In the early 1980s, South Carolina football was searching for an identity, a program hungry for respect on the national stage. Under second-year head coach Joe Morrison, the 1984 Gamecocks did just that, starting a cultural shift in Columbia and leading fans on a journey they’d never forget.

In this four-part series, each episode will walk you through the quiet, high intensity of Morrison and the magical games that turned into one of the best seasons in program history.

📈 STOCK UP

🔺 Ahead Of Schedule. South Carolina junior guard Tessa Johnson graduated with a psychology degree in just two and a half years! She plans to pursue a master’s degree in business while continuing to play basketball for the Gamecocks and hopes to play professionally after college.

⏩ WHILE WE’RE AWAY

🔺 Sunday Funday. The third-ranked women’s basketball team will host Providence on Sunday at noon on the SEC Network. Colonial Life Arena will offer free concessions! Fans can get one hot dog, popcorn, and one regular fountain soda or bottled water for each ticket they have. The promotion will end at the under-12-minute media timeout of the second half.

The Gamecocks will begin SEC play on New Year’s Day when they host Alabama at 2 p.m. on SEC Network+.

🔺 Non-Con Finale. Gamecock men’s basketball will play the non-conference finale on Tuesday, Dec. 30. They’ll host Albany at 6 p.m. on the SEC Network. Free concessions will be offered.

SEC play will begin on Jan. 3 when the Gamecocks host Vanderbilt at 2 p.m. on ESPNU.
