🔺 On A Roll. No. 3 South Carolina women’s basketball downed North Carolina Central 106-42. Ta’Niya Latson scored a season-high 32 points, while Joyce Edwards scored 25. The Gamecock defense forced 36 turnovers and had 10 blocks.

🔺 Big Win. Men’s basketball’s Meechie Johnson led South Carolina to an 82-51 win over Stetson, scoring 17 points and making all five of his field-goal attempts. The Gamecocks shot 55% from the field, including 44% from beyond the arc, and had seven players hit a three-pointer. The 31-point win marked South Carolina’s largest margin of victory this season.

🔺 Opened The Gates. South Carolina track & field opened the 2026 campaign with 11 wins and two program records at the Clemson Opener. The women’s team secured seven wins, including standout performances from Alexis Brown in the sprints and Tristen Harris in the long jump. The men’s team added four wins, with Tyson Williams and the 4x400m relay team setting new program records.

🔺 Going The Distance. The Gamecocks’ distance squad set two program records and nine new top 10 program marks at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Opener. Salma Elbadra broke her own record in the 3000-meter, while Anya Arroyo set a new top time in the 5000-meter. The Gamecocks will return to competition on Jan. 10 when they host the Gamecock Opener.
