Dubbed an “honorary Gamecock” by our hosts, Palmetto State native Tyler Thigpen went from under-recruited high school wingback to starting NFL quarterback. The former Coastal Carolina Chanticleer reconnects with Pat and Stephen to share his story.

🔺 Preseason Praise. Second baseman Logan Sutter was named a National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Preseason All-American! Sutter, a grad transfer from Purdue, had a standout 2025 season with a .367 batting average, 22 doubles, 15 home runs, and 62 RBIs.

🔺 Center Stage. South Carolina center Madina Okot was named to the 2026 Lisa Leslie Award Midseason Top 10. Okot ranks among the nation’s best with 15 double-doubles, averaging 13.2 points and 10.2 rebounds per game. The winner of the award will be announced in late March.

🔺 Undefeated Weekend. The 14th-ranked men’s tennis team went 3-0 over the weekend with wins over Presbyterian, SC State, and No. 20 Duke. The Gamecocks shut out Presbyterian and SC State before beating Duke 4-1.

🔺 Forging Her Own Path. Gamecock beach volleyball sophomore Karlyn Dyal is carving her own path in the sport. Coming from an athletic family that consists of a father who played in the NFL and two siblings who played college sports, she initially played indoor volleyball before discovering a passion for beach volleyball in high school. Now studying applied sports psychology and counseling, she aspires to become a mental performance consultant in the NFL.
