Tailgate Talks: Michael Roth - Get ready for a series of star-studded Gamecock baseball guests joining the tailgate! Stephen Garcia and Patrick DiMarco may have made their names on the gridiron, but they just happen to be classmates with some of the biggest names in South Carolina baseball history. Up first is a guy that toed the rubber under the brightest lights time and again: Michael Roth. Stay tuned for episodes with Christian Walker and Ray Tanner in the coming weeks!

COMING SOON: The Follow: Gamecock Baseball - Season 3 - The Gamecocks+ docuseries, "The Follow," is returning for a third season with Gamecock baseball as the Paul Mainieri era gets underway. Let us take you inside the program all season long as the legendary coach tries to lead the Gamecocks back to Omaha in his first season in Columbia. Episode one is set to premiere this month!

📈 STOCK UP

🔺 High Fives. South Carolina softball had a very successful opening weekend at the Gamecock Invitational, winning all five games. After Thursday’s walk-off win over Virginia, they did it again on Friday! The two went into eight innings before the Gamecocks won 5-4 thanks to a Brooke Blankenship home run. On Saturday, the Gamecocks picked up two shutout wins, defeating Providence 8-0 and Saint Francis 7-0. They closed the weekend defeating East Carolina 1-0 as Jori Heard struck out a career-high 10.

🔺 Upset Season. The eighth-ranked equestrian team upset No. 4 Texas A&M 11-9! It was their first win over the Aggies since the 2019-20 season and the first SEC win of head coach Carol Gwin’s Gamecock career. The Gamecocks won in Fences, Horsemanship, and Flat, then secured the victory in Reining with a dramatic final ride. Natalie Jayne and Chloe Stephenson were named MOPs. They’ll hit the road next weekend to take on Auburn.

🔺 Fell Short. The second-ranked women’s basketball team fell at No. 4 Texas 66-62, snapping South Carolina’s 57-game SEC regular-season winning streak. MiLaysia Fulwiley led the Gamecocks with 13 points, three assists, and three steals. Chloe Kitts and Joyce Edwards scored nine points each. They’ll host Florida on Thursday at 7 p.m.

🔺 Record-Setter. The track & field teams competed at the East Coast Invitational and the Scarlet & White Invitational over the weekend! Salma Elbadra broke two school records in the women’s indoor mile and the 3K. She finished as the top collegian in both events. The distance squad posted 11 Top 10 program marks in Boston. At the East Coast Invitational, Anthony Greenhow won the men’s 200m, JaMeesia Ford won the women’s 200m with a meet record, and Theo Mudzengerere won the men’s triple jump.
