Forever to Thee: The Ray Tanner Legacy: Twenty-nine years at the University of South Carolina. Two national championships as a head coach, and several more as the athletics director. Three national coach of the year awards, twenty-one NCAA Tournament appearances, and the list goes on. Ray Tanner will be remembered at USC forever for his accomplishments and accolades as a coach and administrator, but that only scratches the surface of the impact he's made on this school and community. His legacy goes much deeper.

Kennedy Jones hit a two-run homer in the first inning, which was answered immediately by Winthrop. Talmadge LeCroy doubled to score two and give the Gamecocks the lead.
