🎥 GAMECOCKS UNTOLD: MEECHIE’S STORY
Just a kid from Cleveland, Ohio trying to make his family and city proud. Meechie Johnson has had one of the most unique college careers you’ll see. From playing for his hometown team to leaving for South Carolina… twice.
Outsiders had plenty of questions. The thing they didn’t have? An understanding.
Watch the Meechie Johnson Story now on Gamecocks+.
🎙️ TAILGATE TALKS
Just three Florida boys who took I-95 North to chase their dreams and wound up living through some of the glory days of Gamecock athletics. Robert Beary found himself right in the middle of countless key moments during Carolina’s run to back-to-back national titles. Now the former high school rival of our own Pat DiMarco sits down to talk about how it all came to be.
📈 STOCK UP
🔺 Feeling Grand. The No. 19 South Carolina softball team beat Charlotte 9-1 in a five-inning run-rule victory. Tori Ensley led the offense with a grand slam and five RBIs, while Emma Friedel pitched four innings for the win. The Gamecocks turn around to host Winthrop tonight at 6 p.m.
🔺 Fell Short. Gamecock men’s basketball fell to Kentucky 72-63 last night. Meechie Johnson led a trio of Gamecocks in double-figures with 18 points. Mike Sharavjamts scored 12, while Elijah Strong scored 11 points. South Carolina will play at Georgia on Saturday.
🔺 Midweek Mash. South Carolina baseball will host Queens tonight at 6:30 p.m. on SEC Network+. The Gamecocks have defeated the Royals in each of the last three seasons. South Carolina is coming off a 2-1 weekend that led Will Craddock to be named SEC Freshman of the Week.

🔺 Earned It. Gamecock middle-distance runner Eline Mast was named the SEC Women’s Runner of the Week! She won the women’s mile and the 800m at Saturday’s USC Invite. The Gamecocks will take on the SEC Indoor Championship tomorrow.
🔺 Building Something Special. South Carolina track and field head coach Tim Hall has built a competitive program by recruiting outstanding freshmen and veteran athletes through the transfer portal. Hall emphasizes the importance of recruiting athletes who align with the program’s philosophy and values, focusing on character and communication. The Gamecocks have successfully recruited athletes who have made an immediate impact, contributing to the program’s success as they aim for a national championship.
“We acquire kids that want to be at South Carolina for the right reasons; not just chasing money.”
