🎥 GAMECOCKS UNTOLD: MEECHIE’S STORY

Just a kid from Cleveland, Ohio trying to make his family and city proud. Meechie Johnson has had one of the most unique college careers you’ll see. From playing for his hometown team to leaving for South Carolina… twice.

Outsiders had plenty of questions. The thing they didn’t have? An understanding.

📈 STOCK UP

🔺 Festival Season. The Garnet & Black Spring Fest will feature a concert with Darius Rucker and Lauren Alaina at Colonial Life Arena on April 11! The event will also include a free pre-concert block party in Foundation Square with a meet and greet with Gamecock football student-athletes. Concert tickets will be released in phases to Gamecock Club members, Letterman Association members, USC students, and Colonial Life Arena Cyber Club members before going on sale to the general public.

🔺 Road Test Passed. No. 19 Gamecock softball downed Winthrop 5-4 in its first true road test as Alyssa Hovermale’s first career home run took the lead. The Gamecocks rallied from a 4-0 deficit, tying the game in the fifth and the game-winner coming in the sixth.

🔺 Double Down. Gamecock women’s basketball senior Madina Okot was named SEC and USBWA National Player of the Week! She averaged 16.5 points and 13 rebounds, including two double-doubles, plus a perfect 5-for-5 shooting from beyond the arc.

🔺 Teddy Bear Toss. The third-ranked women’s basketball team will host Missouri tonight at 8 p.m. on the SEC Network. Four seniors will be honored before the game. Fans are encouraged to bring canned food donations for the SEC Food Fight. There will also be a Teddy Bear Toss at halftime, with all stuffed animals (unboxed, no battery packs) donated to local charities.

🔺 Chasing A Championship. The 2026 SEC Indoor Track & Field Championships begin today! This year’s meet will be held at Texas A&M. The action begins today at 5:30 p.m. and continues through Saturday.

🔺 High Noon Match. The 17th-ranked women’s tennis team will host No. 9 LSU today at noon. On Saturday, the Gamecocks will host No. 32 Ole Miss at 1 p.m.
