Tailgate Talks: Joe Connolly Part 2 — It's time for round two with former Gamecock football strength coach, Joe Connolly! This time, we dive into the specifics of sports performance training with the 2024 Strength and Conditioning Coach of the Year. What all goes into getting a college football team ready for play? How has training changed over the years? What is a wet fart in an astronaut suit, and how is that relevant? We answer it all.

🔺 Spring Has Sprung. Spring football is here and Coach Shane Beamer challenges his team to take their performance to the next level in preparation for the 2025 season. With high expectations and a talented roster, the Gamecocks aim to build on their successful 2024 campaign and compete for a playoff berth. The Gamecocks welcome 107 players to spring camp, including nine returning starters.

🔺 All-American Girls. Four Gamecock women’s basketball players have been named All-Americans! Joyce Edwards and Chloe Kitts earned AP and USBWA All-America Honorable Mention honors, while MiLaysia Fulwiley and Te-Hina Paopao earned AP All-America Honorable Mention honors. The Gamecocks will be back in action tomorrow when they host Tennessee Tech!

🔺 Earned It. Men’s basketball’s Collin Murray-Boyles was named NABC First Team All-South Atlantic District! He finished his sophomore campaign averaging 16.8 points, 8.3 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 1.5 steals, and 1.3 blocks per game. He had 11 20-point games this season and nine double-doubles.
