Tailgate Talks: Joe Connolly: Part 1 — Plenty of people immediately come to mind when thinking about the success of the South Carolina football program during the Spurrier era. Some of the greatest Gamecocks of all time came from those days, but there's a name you may or may not recognize that contributed greatly to the program's historic stretch: Joe Connolly. Pat and Stephen catch up with their old strength coach to give you insight on why Connolly played such a significant role in their success.
📈 STOCK UP

🔺 Five On It. Five Gamecock women’s basketball players received SEC postseason honors! MiLaysia Fulwiley was named the SEC Sixth Woman of the Year and earned All-SEC Second Team honors, along with Te-Hina Paopao. Joyce Edwards earned All-SEC First Team and All-Freshman honors. Sania Feagin and Raven Johnson were named to the All-Defensive team.

🔺 Baker’s Dozen. The Gamecocks placed 13 track & field athletes on All-SEC teams! First Team members are gold medalists, Second Team members are silver medalists, and Third Team members are bronze medalists from the SEC Indoor Championships. JaMeesia Ford earned First Team All-SEC honors after taking gold in the women’s 200m. Six Gamecocks were named to the Second Team, and another six were named to the Third Team.

🔺 Midweek Mash. Gamecock baseball beat Davidson 7-3 last night! They scored five runs in the sixth inning to take the lead. Henry Kaczmar hit his first homer of the season. He went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI. Tyler Pitzer earned the win on the mound. The Gamecocks will play at The Citadel tonight at 7 p.m. on ESPN+.

🔺 Home, Sweet Home. South Carolina softball returns home after taking three from No. 8 Duke on the road! The Gamecocks moved up to No. 11 in the NFCA poll this week. They’ll host Youngstown State tonight at 6 p.m. on SEC Network+. Arianna Rodi got a lot of love this week, being named SEC Player of the Week and a Softball America Star of the Week.

🔺 Fell Short. The men’s basketball team fell to Georgia 73-64 on Senior Night. Collin Murray-Boyles led the Gamecocks with 24 points for his fourth-straight 20-point performance. He made a career-high 13 free throws. They’ll head to No. 4 Tennessee for their final game of the regular season on Saturday.
