🔺 Remembering Coach. Former Gamecock head football coach Lou Holtz has passed away at 89. He revitalized the South Carolina football program, leading the Gamecocks to significant improvements and bowl game victories during his tenure. Holtz’s legacy extends beyond football, remembered for his motivational teachings and impact on those he coached.

🔺 Double Dubs. Gamecock baseball won its second midweek game of the week! They downed Charleston Southern 4-1 last night as Alex Valentin shut down the night, striking out four in two innings. Aaron Jamison led the offense with two hits, including a home run.

🔺 Rare Feat. South Carolina is one of just three schools to have men’s and women’s tennis ranked in the top-13 of the ITA rankings. The women’s team is ranked No. 11, while the men are ranked No. 13.

🔺 Hometown Hero. Gamecock legend A’ja Wilson, a Columbia, South Carolina native, chose to play college basketball for the South Carolina Gamecocks, where she led the team to an NCAA National Championship and won National Player of the Year. Her professional career includes four WNBA MVP awards, three WNBA championships, and Olympic gold medals. Wilson’s impact extends beyond the court, with a signature shoe, a bestselling book, and a statue dedicated to her at South Carolina.
