Tailgate Talks: Joe Connolly: Part 1 — Plenty of people immediately come to mind when thinking about the success of the South Carolina football program during the Spurrier era. Some of the greatest Gamecocks of all time came from those days, but there's a name you may or may not recognize that contributed greatly to the program's historic stretch: Joe Connolly. Pat and Stephen catch up with their old strength coach to give you insight on why Connolly played such a significant role in their success.

📈 STOCK UP

🔺 Quarterfinal Friday. The fifth-ranked women’s basketball team enters the SEC Tournament with the No. 1-seed! They’ll play Vanderbilt today at noon at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville. The Gamecocks are 31-8 at the SEC Tournament in the Dawn Staley era, winning eight championships.

🔺 Sticking Around. Gamecock baseball is staying home this weekend as they host Morehead State for a three-game series. First pitch is set for 7 p.m. tonight at Founders Park. The series will continue tomorrow at 4 p.m. and Sunday at 1:30 p.m. All three games will stream on SEC Network+.

🔺 No Love In Oklahoma. The 11th-ranked softball team will begin conference play at No. 2 Oklahoma this weekend. The Gamecocks have proven that they can handle tough road tests as they swept No. 8 Duke at their place last weekend. First pitch is tonight at 7:30 p.m. on SEC Network+! The series will continue tomorrow at 3 p.m. on SEC Network+ and things will conclude on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. on the SEC Network.

🔺 Beachin’. The beach volleyball team is headed to Fort Meyers, Florida for the FGCU Inaugural Tournament this weekend! They’ll play No. 19 North Florida, FGCU, No. 14 FIU, and No. 20 Stetson. The Gamecocks are coming off a 2-0 weekend at home with wins over Austin Peay and UAB.
