Tailgate Talks: Brett Griffin — There's a diehard Gamecock fan in just about every industry you can think of, and NASCAR is no different. "Spotter Brett" made a name for himself on the circuit, helping change the game and how spotters are used during a race. Stephen chops it up with his old friend, Brett Griffin, to learn more about the racing industry, his Carolina fandom, and hear some stories from the pit any racing fan will love.

📈 STOCK UP

🔺 Shutout Central. Gamecock baseball shut out The Citadel 4-0 last night! Four Gamecock pitchers - Jackson Soucie, Tyler Pitzer, Ashton Crowther, and Parker Marlatt - struck out seven batters in the win. KJ Scobey opened the night with his fourth home run of the year. They’ll open the weekend series on Thursday, hosting Ole Miss.

🔺 Top-10 Trio. The fourth-ranked women’s golf team remains at the top of the leaderboard after round two of the SEC Championship! They sit at 20-under with a 14-stroke lead. Three Gamecocks sit top-10 individually with Eila Galitsky alone in first. Hannah Darling is in second-place, while Louise Rydqvist is tied for fifth.

🔺 All We Had. Carolina softball fell to No. 20 Clemson 2-1 in extra innings last night. Karley Shelton, Arianna Rodi, and Lexi Winters each recorded two hits. Rodi hit her 13th home run of the year to score the lone Gamecock run. The two teams split the season series.

🔺 The Beamer Ball. Break out your fancy clothes and dancin’ shoes! The Beamer Ball is Saturday, May 17 in Williams-Brice Stadium! Attendees can enjoy a meal and open bar on the field with Gamecock football and athletics staff, followed by live music and dancing. There will also be a silent and live auction.
