🎙️ GAMECOCK TALK

It's not every day you get to take your entire team abroad on the trip of a lifetime. Gamecocks women's soccer just returned from Italy, and head coach Shelley Smith tells us what the experience meant for the team on and off the field. From the international competition they faced to the sightseeing, team bonding, and the food, this trip had it all.

📈 STOCK UP

🔺 National Champions! The South Carolina Gamecocks won their fourth NCEA National Championship, defeating No. 2 Texas A&M in a tiebreaker. The Gamecocks, led by head coach Carol Gwin, secured the victory with a strong performance in Reining and Horsemanship, despite Texas A&M’s comeback in Fences. This marks South Carolina’s first National Championship since 2015 and Gwin’s third in four years.

🔺 Took Two. South Carolina softball took two from Missouri to win the SEC series. They started the weekend with a 5-2 win, powered by multi-hit games from Tori Ensley, Arianna Rodi, and Jamie Mackay. They fell on Saturday, but earned the series win on Sunday with a 4-0 win. Ensley, Mackay, and Karley Shelton each hit home runs in the win.

🔺 Sunshine Success. South Carolina track & field concluded the Tom Jones Memorial with three wins and seven new Top 10 program marks. The women’s 4x400 meter relay team set a new program record, and the 4x100 meter relay team tied for the fastest time in school history.
