Tailgate Talks: Brett Griffin — There's a diehard Gamecock fan in just about every industry you can think of, and NASCAR is no different. "Spotter Brett" made a name for himself on the circuit, helping change the game and how spotters are used during a race. Stephen chops it up with his old friend, Brett Griffin, to learn more about the racing industry, his Carolina fandom, and hear some stories from the pit any racing fan will love.

🔺 Gamecock Gala. South Carolina Athletics held the annual Gamecock Gala last night! Women’s golfer Louise Rydqvist took home the top award of the night, the President’s Award. Quarterback LaNorris Sellers was named the Male Athlete of the Year, while track & field’s JaMeesia Ford was named the Female Athlete of the Year. Click here to see all of the award winners!

🔺 Break Out The Brooms. Gamecock softball completed the series sweep over Kentucky last night! They shut out the Wildcats 7-0 to record Ashley Chastain Woodard’s first SEC sweep. Sam Gress led the Gamecocks in the circle, pitching her first shutout of the season.

🔺 Playing Fetch. It’s time for Bark in the Park, presented by CVETS! Gamecock baseball hosts North Florida tonight at 6:30 p.m. If you’re bringing your furry friend, they must be pre-registered by clicking here! Tonight’s game will stream on SEC Network+.

🔺 Fore Charity. Gamecock football coach Shane Beamer will compete in the Southern Company Peach Bowl Challenge! This charity golf tournament will be held April 27-29 at Reynolds Lake Oconee outside of Atlanta. This will be Coach Beamer’s fifth appearance at the event. There are 25 current and former college football coaches competing for a share of a $300,000 charity purse.

🔺 New Leadership. South Carolina Athletics announced that Lindsey Hodge will replace Lindsay Sprague as the new head coach of the Carolina Dance Team. Sprague, who led the team to three national championships, will remain as CFO of the Gamecock Club. Hodge was a member of the dance team in 2009-10 and rejoined as an assistant coach in the fall of 2022.
