Tailgate Talks: Nick Emmanwori — Nick Emmanwori heard his name called over the weekend! Before the draft, he joined the tailgate to talk with Pat and Stephen about where it all started, his time at Carolina, and getting ready for the NFL.
📈 STOCK UP

🔺 The Journey Continues. Five Gamecocks were drafted to the NFL over the weekend! Nick Emmanwori was the first to hear his name called as he went 35th overall to the Seattle Seahawks. T.J. Sanders was drafted by the Buffalo Bills at pick No. 41. Demetrius Knight Jr. heard his name called shortly after as the Cincinnati Bengals drafted him 49th overall to become the third Gamecock to go in the second round. The Los Angeles Chargers drafted Kyle Kennard with the 23rd pick of the fourth round. Tonka Hemingway was the final Gamecock drafted as the Las Vegas Raiders drafted him with the 33rd pick in the fourth round.

🔺 Strong Showing. Both Gamecock track & field teams finished runner-up at the Charlotte Invitational! They had a strong opening day, winning five of seven events. The women’s distance squad won three events, while the men won two distance races. On day two, the women’s team won five events, including individual wins from Cynteria James, JaMeesia Ford, Joslyn Hamilton, and Cheyla Scott. The men’s team won three events, including Theo Mudzengerere’s triple jump and both relay events.

🔺 Even Out. Gamecock baseball finished the week 2-2 after a game at home and three at Kentucky. Will Tippett hit a two run homer in the top of the eighth to secure the 5-4 South Carolina win at Kentucky on Saturday. Henry Kaczmar had six hits through three games at Kentucky, improving his conference batting average to .353. South Carolina will host Charleston Southern tomorrow at 6:30 p.m.

🔺 Sunday Funday. Gamecock softball dropped two on the road at Auburn over the weekend, but finished strong with a 4-1 win. Arianna Rodi hit a three-run homer in the first inning to set the tone. Sam Gress threw a complete game while striking out a season-high eight batters. They’ll host Furman tomorrow at 6 p.m.
