Tailgate Talks: Whit Merrifield — Where were you for Whit's hit? Every Gamecock fan can answer that question. Next up on the Tailgate is South Carolina baseball legend, Whit Merrifield. A guy who came in the same time as Stephen and Pat, Whit made a name for himself in Columbia before going on to play in the big leagues for nearly a decade.

🔺 Four It All. It’s Final Four time for Gamecock women’s basketball! They’ll play No. 5 Texas tonight at 7 p.m. on ESPN. This will be the fourth matchup between the Gamecocks and the Longhorns, with South Carolina holding the 2-1 lead. The two last met in the SEC Championship game. The winner will play in the National Championship on Sunday!

🔺 Calling You Home. It’s Alumnae Weekend for Carolina softball! The 10th-ranked Gamecocks will host No. 19 Ole Miss for a three-game series, starting tonight at 6 p.m. The first 300 fans will receive a rally towel tonight. Tomorrow, we’ll celebrate the 50th Year of Varsity Women’s Sports at South Carolina. Sunday is throwback night! The first 300 fans will receive a throwback themed Gamecock softball shirt.

🔺 Road Trippin’. Gamecock baseball is on the road this weekend for a three-game series at Mississippi State. First pitch is set for 7 p.m., with all three games streaming on SEC Network+.

🔺 Gamecock Tennis Palooza. The Gamecock Tennis Palooza continues throughout the weekend! Today is Staff Appreciation Day as the women’s tennis team hosts Missouri at 11:30 a.m. The first 75 fans will receive a pair of sunglasses! Tomorrow, the men’s team will host No. 26 Georgia at 1 p.m. The first 150 fans will receive free ice pops, the first 75 will receive sunglasses, and there will be a bounce house! The bounce house sticks around on Sunday when the women’s team celebrates Senior Day. They’ll play No. 13 Vanderbilt at 1 p.m. with a bucket hat giveaway and free ice cream.
