A guy who came in the same time as Stephen and Pat, Whit made a name for himself in Columbia before going on to play in the big leagues for nearly a decade.

🔺 Early Decision. Gamecock baseball run-ruled USC Upstate 13-3 in seven innings last night! Dalton Mashore launched a grand slam to get the Gamecocks on the board before Ethan Petry added a two-run homer of his own. Additionally, Cayden Gaskin hit his first career home run!

🔺 Palmetto State Foes. The No. 10 Gamecock softball team is back at home tonight! They’ll play Charleston Southern at 6 p.m. on SEC Network+. South Carolina sits No. 1 in NCAA RPI this week. They’re coming off of a 2-1 weekend over No. 19 Ole Miss.

🔺 Great Eight. Freshman women’s basketball player Joyce Edwards landed on the NCAA Final Four All-Tournament Team. She finished the weekend averaging 11.5 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 3.5 assists.

🔺 Long Shot. South Carolina’s CJ Licata has been named the SEC Co-Field Athlete of the Week! He opened his outdoor season with a win in the men’s shot put. His 20.17m throw ranks first in the NCAA.
