Gamecocks Untold: Mackay - Growing up, Jamie Mackay was used to being the only girl on the field. She fell in love with baseball at a young age and dreamed of playing in college, but life opened another door when she was offered an SEC softball scholarship before ever playing a single inning of the sport. Now, after transferring to South Carolina for her senior season, Jamie is looking for one final postseason run before heading back to women's professional baseball. Much like the 2026 Gamecocks, the California native has turned a rollercoaster season into an opportunity for a storybook ending.

 🔺 Tourney Time. Gamecock softball will begin postseason play tonight at 7:30 p.m. vs. Cal State Fullerton at the Los Angeles Regional. The winner will face the winner of UCLA vs. California Baptist at 5 p.m. on Saturday. Fans at home can watch tonight’s game on ESPN+!

🔺 All Region Honors. South Carolina softball players Jori Heard and Tori Ensley earned NFCA Second Team All-Region recognition. Heard secured her second NFCA All-Region nod, while Ensley garnered her first. Heard posted a 1.95 ERA this season, good for 23rd in the country. Ensley leads the team with 13 home runs, 46 runs, 45 RBIs and 12 stolen bases.

🔺 Personal Best. South Carolina track and field freshman Kaleb Burroughs qualified for the 800m finals with a time of 1:47:55 on Thursday afternoon. The time was the fourth-fastest in program history and his personal best. The 800m finals will take place Saturday evening. The SEC Outdoor Track and Field Championships continue today.
