COMING SOON — The Follow: The Arrival (Ep. 1): In the heart of Columbia, a new era of South Carolina softball has begun. With a first year head coach making her return to the program, and a combination of impact returners and fresh faces, the Gamecocks are hungry to prove they belong. After a roaring start, one thing is certain: it didn’t take long to shatter those last place preseason expectations. Gamecock softball has arrived.

Tailgate Talks: Jamie Speronis — Steve Spurrier's right hand man, DFO, NFL liaison. Whatever title you want to use, one thing is certain: Jamie Speronis wore more hats than you could count. The man who spent 12 seasons with Gamecock football and more than two decades alongside the Head Ball Coach has plenty of great memories and even more stories to share.

🔺 Feeling Super. Gamecock softball is headed to the NCAA Super Regionals for the third time in program history! They went 3-0 at the Columbia Regional, defeating Elon once and North Florida twice. South Carolina will host UCLA in the Super Regional this upcoming weekend.

🔺 Night To Remember. Women’s track & field star JaMeesia Ford put on a show at the SEC Outdoor Championships! She earned 25 points and eventually won the Commissioner’s Trophy for scoring the most points at the meet. She was the anchor leg in the gold medal-winning 4×100m relay team to start the day. She then became the first Gamecock female to win the 100m SEC title before winning the 200m in program record-setting fashion. Finally, the Gamecocks took the 4×400m title for the first time since 2007. They finished fifth overall, their highest finish since 2007.

🔺 Another One. Women’s basketball coach Dawn Staley was inducted into the FIBA Hall of Fame over the weekend! It joins the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame and the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame on her resume. Staley is a three-time Olympic champion and two-time FIBA World Cup winner.
