In the heart of Columbia, a new era of South Carolina softball has begun. With a first year head coach making her return to the program, and a combination of impact returners and fresh faces, the Gamecocks are hungry to prove they belong. After a roaring start, one thing is certain: it didn’t take long to shatter those last place preseason expectations. Gamecock softball has arrived.
🎙️ TAILGATE TALKS
Tailgate Talks: Troy Williamson — First team All-SEC, NCAA record-holder, top ten NFL draft pick. Troy Williamson covered a lot of ground in his three years in the Garnet & Black, and surely left his mark. The South Carolina native went on to play for six years in the NFL and is now back in the Midlands, raising kids and cheering on the Gamecocks.

🔺 Home For More. South Carolina softball is hosting an NCAA Super Regional this weekend! They’ll host UCLA today and tomorrow at 1 p.m. They’ll play game three on Sunday if necessary.
🔺 California Dreamin’. The 20th-ranked men’s golf team begins NCAA Championship play today! They’ll tee off at Omni La Costa in Carlsbad, California in their 22nd all-time appearance.
🔺 A’One Of A Kind. Former Gamecock women’s basketball star A’ja Wilson was featured in the Carolinian recently! Her A’One Nike shoe just hit the selves and, of course, Coach Dawn Staley was one of the first to receive a pair. Read more about A’ja and her All Caps Moment here.
