Mike Uva, a transplant from New England, has made a name for himself as a Gamecock insider, covering South Carolina athletics for a decade. Coach chats about how he got into coaching, being the only living member of the College Football Hall of Fame to be inducted as a player and a coach, and much more.

🔺 Fearless Leader. What Carolina softball head coach Ashley Chastain Woodard accomplished in her first season at the helm was nothing short of amazing. To celebrate, she has been named the National Coach of the Year by D1 Softball! The Gamecocks set or tied five team records and earned a national seed for the first time in modern program history in her first year. She led the Gamecocks to its first NCAA Super Regional appearance since 2018.

🔺 Core Four. Four Gamecock tennis players earned ITA All-American honors! Connor Thomson earned honors in both singles and doubles, while Lucas da Silva earned doubles honors. On the women’s team, Sarah Hamner earned singles and doubles All-American honors, while Kaitlyn Carnicella earned doubles honors.

🔺 Triple Threat. Three women’s golfers earned WGCA All-American honors. Freshman Eila Galitsky was named First Team All-America, while seniors Hannah Darling and Louise Rydqvist landed on the Second Team. Darling and Rydqvist finish their Gamecock careers as two of the most decorated players in program history. They are the first South Carolina players to be four-time All-Americans.
