Demetrius Knight played sparingly his first four years in college, but became a fan favorite in a matter of a few months in the Garnet & Black. D-Knight joins the Tailgate right after his life-changing phone call on NFL Draft night.

🔺 Feeling Super. The 13th-ranked men’s tennis team defeated No. 20 Florida State 4-3 to advance to the Super Regionals! The Gamecocks battled back after losing the doubles point. Sean Daryabeigi clinched the win with a 6-3, 6-7, 6-3 victory on court 3. South Carolina will play No. 4 Stanford in Palo Alto, California on Friday at 3 p.m.

🔺 Roll On. Gamecock softball started the weekend with a loss, but finished it with a doubleheader sweep over No. 19 Alabama! Weather made things difficult on Friday night, causing the game to be halted in the second inning. It picked up on Saturday as Sam Gress dealt five strikeouts over seven innings and the Gamecocks won 3-1. The bats came alive in the second game of the day as South Carolina picked up the 7-2 win. They scored five runs in the bottom of the second inning.

🔺 Tourney Time. It’s time for the women’s golf team to start the NCAA Charlottesville Regional! Teams will play 54-holes of stroke play over the next three days, with the top-five teams at each regional site advancing to the NCAA Championship.
Head coach Kalen Anderson was named the SEC Coach of the Year! Eila Galitsky was named the SEC Co-Freshman of the Year, becoming the second player in program history to win the award. She was joined by Louise Rydqvist and Hannah Darling on the All-SEC First Team. Maylis Lamoure earned Second Team honors.

🔺 Finished Strong. The track & field team finished the regular outdoor season strong at the East Coast Relays! The women racked up four wins and one runner-up finish, while the men finished with one win. The Gamecocks won the women’s 4×100m relay, JaMeesia Ford won the 100m title with teammate Cynteria James right behind her. Zaya Akins won the 400m sprint with a season-best time of 51.34. Additionally, Cheyla Scott won the women’s high jump. On the men’s side, Jaouad Khchina won the 800m.
