🔺 She’s An Icon. South Carolina women’s basketball coach Dawn Staley was named to the inaugural TIME100 Sports list as an Icon! Staley’s accolades include three national championships, five national coach of the year awards, and a historic Olympic gold medal win as the first Black head coach of the USA Basketball Women’s Senior National Team. Beyond basketball, she is recognized for her community leadership and was recently inducted into the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.

🔺 Championship Run Begins. South Carolina track & field’s journey at the NCAA Outdoor Championship begins today! The men’s duo of Jaouad Khchina and Devan Crumpton will compete today in the 1,500m and the 400m, respectively.

🔺 Gamecock At Shinnecock. Rising junior men’s golfer Marek Fleming punched his ticket to the 2026 U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills next week! He earned one of four final qualifier spots at Del Paso Country Club. This is the second-straight year the Gamecocks will be represented at the U.S. Open.

🔺 Double Trouble. Two Gamecock men’s tennis players earned ITA regional honors! Lucas da Silva was named the ITA Carolina Region Senior Player of the Year and earned the Arthur Ashe Leadership & Sportsmanship Award. Sean Daryabeigi earned Most Improved Player honors.
