With upgrades and changes to the landscape of collegiate athletics, one thing remains the same. A tradition that goes back 40 years, South Carolina football has become synonymous with the song known around here as "2001." You may think you know the full story, but in our Carolina Traditions series, we talk to Tommy Suggs -- the man who brought it to Columbia, and a player who ran out to it for the very first time four decades ago.

🔺 Best In The Carolinas. Recent women’s tennis graduate Sarah Hamner was named Senior Player of the Year for the Carolina ITA DI Region. She finished the season with a 19-10 overall record, including a win against the top-ranked singles player in the NCAA. She is now in contention for an ITA National Award which will be announced tomorrow.

🔺 Jump Around. Three Gamecock men’s track & field athletes will be competing at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championship today! Channing Ferguson will compete in the men’s long jump, while CJ Licata and Dylan Targgart will compete in the men’s shot put finals.
