A dream start to the 2025 season landed the Gamecocks in the national rankings, but critics were skeptical. Could they survive back-to-back showdowns with top 10 opponents on the road? They did more than that. February was no fluke. South Carolina is for real.

📈 STOCK UP

🔺 Bringing Home Hardware. The 2025 NCAA Outdoor Championship concluded with the Gamecock women securing their best finish since 2006. JaMeesia Ford won the 200m championship, becoming the first Gamecock to do so since 2006. She also finished runner-up in the 100m, becoming the first Gamecock to score in the event since 2011. The women’s team finished seventh overall with 28 points.

🔺 Making History. The men’s track & field team also had a weekend to remember! They finished tied for 23rd at the NCAA Outdoor Championship, their best post-COVID finish. Theo Mudzengerere and Nate Figgers earned First Team All-American honors in the triple jump and high jump, respectively. Mudzengerere became the first Gamecock male ever to score in the triple jump at the event. Channing Ferguson earned Second Team All-American honors in the high jump.

🔺 Draft-able Duo. Gamecock baseball’s Nathan Hall and Ethan Petry will take part in the MLB Draft Combine in Phoenix, Arizona this week. They’ll have the opportunity to be interviewed by and interact with MLB general managers and scouts. The combine will be televised on MLB Network at noon tomorrow.
