🎥 MY TIME

As we wrap up our year-long celebration of 50 years of women’s sports at the University of South Carolina, we take a look back at some of the most influential voices that got it all started. From the first female athletes receiving a scholarship, to the ones who helped change the game along the way, these women laid the foundation for the incredible success we’re seeing today.

📈 STOCK UP

🔺 From The Top. The 2024-25 athletics season has come to a close and we’re building momentum for the fall. The Williams-Brice Stadium project is progressing, with the next step being approval from the State of South Carolina Legislature in August. The House v. NCAA settlement will allow for revenue sharing with student-athletes, and the football season will be kicking off in Atlanta before we know it! Athletics Director Jeremiah Donati discusses more hot topics.

🔺 50th Year To Remember. South Carolina celebrated 50 years of women’s varsity sports with a banner year, winning four SEC team titles and numerous individual championships. The year was highlighted by women’s golf and equestrian winning SEC titles, volleyball’s NCAA Tournament run, the women’s soccer team’s SEC Championship runner-up finish, and the women’s basketball national runner-up finish. Softball also advanced to Super Regionals in Coach Ashley Chastain Woodard’s first season. The track & field team also had a standout year, with JaMeesia Ford winning gold in the 100m and 200m at the SEC Outdoor Championships and a national championship title.

🔺 Challenge Accepted. Gamecock men’s basketball will host Virginia Tech for the ACC/SEC Challenge! They’ll tip off at Colonial Life Arena on December 2. South Carolina is 2-0 in challenge games under Lamont Paris, with wins over Notre Dame and Boston College.

🔺 Challengers. The women’s basketball team will head to Louisville for their edition of the ACC/SEC Challenge on December 4. The Gamecocks are 2-0 in The Challenge with wins over North Carolina and Duke.
